7 weeks postpartum, I found myself admitted to the ICU in January 2022. I spent the following year recovering. Although the physical recovery was hard, the mental recovery was even harder. The trauma of experiencing the ICU as a patient was something that impacted my daily life and nearly prevented me from returning to my job at the hospital. 

The care I received from the Critical Illness Recovery Centre (CIRC) was pivotal in healing the residual anxiety and fear I developed. CIRC helped give me back my life after the ICU. I am running to raise money to help keep the CIRC program running and ensure it will be available for many more people in the future.
