Mon histoire…
We are new to Montreal, but we are not new to the mission. We know how important the hospital is to our city: the incredible care, the world-class staff, the leading research, and the special bond with the community. Five years ago, we were living in Connecticut. Like everyone else, our home was managing its way through Covid, remote work and hybrid schooling. But as we were settling in, a routine visit to a sports therapy clinic ended as an admission to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center Oncology ward. Another known but still unexpected crisis came to our door. My fourteen year old daughter, Madison, was diagnosed with Lymphoma. Our life stopped. We had no idea where to go; nor what to do. But we had a world-class hospital to support us. We were treated by an amazing team of doctors and nurses. We had an incredibly supportive community. A fantastic student, a competitive runner, and a passionate young woman. Five years later, she is happy and healthy. She is studying biology at UVA and hopes to devote her life to helping others. We are fortunate and forever grateful. We know that giving back not only matters-- it is essential. This is why we join Montreal for this race. We connect our past to our new home and use our good fortune to give back. Please join us in supporting a world class institution in funding life-saving research, and in helping members of our community.
