VISION STATEMENT: Caring communities without suicide

MISSION STATEMENT: We work every day to prevent deaths by suicide through our community programs and our online presence. We provide accessible emotional and crisis support by engaging the community and advancing the dialogue.

About Our Charity:

NEED2 has the unenviable task of continually talking about an issue loaded with stigma and silence; suicide. Despite the fact that suicide has impacted the lives of most people, it remains a topic avoided in mainstream conversations and media. We at NEED2 are working hard to change that. Isolation and silence only further alienates those experiencing suicidal ideation. Studies show that individuals who seek out support in the early stages of suicidal ideations are less likely to engage in suicidal behavior. It is when the topic of suicide can be comfortably discussed in mainstream society that people experiencing suicidal ideations will feel less estranged; increasing their likelihood to seek support. Through our programming we provide encouragement and space to bring suicide and mental health challenges out of the darkness; creating suicide safer communities that know how to support individuals who are struggling with suicidal ideation as well as those who have experienced suicidal loss with inclusion and validation.
