The Divide 200 celebrates our Rocky Mountain heritage, and highlights portions of the stunning Great Divide Trail. Our vision for The Divide 200 is to keep you up high and exploring the varied landscape of the Continental Divide. The route includes the Castle and Crowsnest region of the southern Rockies.
The course is a combination of single track, double track, a small amount of road, cross-country, and even a bit of bushwhacking and scrambling. The race is about alpine travel, ridge walks, and getting you into remote backcountry.
NEW! For 2026 we are introducing a limited number of spots for Relay teams and a new 100k course. See the website for details.
This event is for people with a great deal of ultramarathon experience and proficiency in alpine travel. There will be some sections of route-finding even though it is a prescribed course; the terrain can just be really gnarly out there. If you have done a 100k or longer ultra, you are probably physically ready – just keep in mind that the physical part is only half the battle.
Checkpoints are every 20 to 40km apart, depending on the section of the race. Competitors are required to carry a Garmin inReach, provided by us, for both route finding and safety.
The race is capped at 100 entrants. We are offering a large prize purse for the top three female and male 200-mile solo competitors, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers receiving $5,000, $2,500, and $1,750 respectively (all in CDN$). See the website for details.
