Six Foot Track Marathon

All Volunteers on race day will receive an event crew t-shirt (one per volunteer, not for each role), support your fellow runners, gain new skills, build your social connections and sense of purpose!

Please select what size volunteer T-Shirt is required.

Please only register for volunteer roles you know you will complete. Remember to check for time and location clashes before volunteering for multiple positions.

Descriptions of the volunteer roles available:

• Artarmon Packing - Race Merchandise and Kit Bags - Sunday, 8 March 2026

Role: Packing race merchandise in a warehouse with 16 other people

Location: National Storage, 11 Lanceley Place Artarmon

Subway Lunch will be provided

• Artarmon Truck Loading - Race Merchandise and Kit Bags - Thursday, 12 March 2026

Role: Packing race merchandise into a truck with 3 other people

NB: Must be able to lift 10kg boxes

Location: National Storage, 11 Lanceley Place Artarmon

• Finish Line Setup - Friday, 13 March 2026

Role: Setting up the finish area

NB: Must be able to lift 10kg boxes.

Location: Jenolan Caves Cottages, Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, Jenolan Caves Road, Jenolan. Care share can be arranged to/from Katoomba. Volunteers can stay at the cottages for free on Friday night.

• Race Bib, Merchandise Handout and Bag Drop - Friday, 13 March 2026

Role: Setting up the bib and merch area and handing out race bibs, merchandise and supervise the bag drop.

NB: For set up, must be able to lift 10kgs.

Location: Carrington Hotel, 15-47 Katoomba Street Katoomba

• Park N Ride - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: Direct runners to buses, manage bus loading priorities (i.e. load in wave order), oversee queue for toilets and answer questions.

NB: Bring a head torch, it will be dark!

Location: Katoomba Christian Centre Car Park, Corner of Violet and Cliff Drive, Katoomba

• Bus Marshall Katoomba - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: Direct runners onto buses, manage bus loading priorities (i.e. load in wave order) and answer questions.

NB: Bring a head torch, it will be dark!

Location: Carrington Hotel, 15-47 Katoomba St OR YHA Katoomba, 207 Katoomba St

• Start Line Katoomba - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: various roles including bib distribution, loading runners bag drop to a truck, overseeing toilet queue.

NB: Bring a head torch, it will be dark!

Location: Meet at 5.30am at RFS Fire Control Centre to walk to the start line. Corner of Bathurst and Valley Road Katoomba

• Volunteers at the Finish Line - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Please only register for both morning and afternoon if you are OK to work all day!

Location: Jenolan Caves Cottages, Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, Jenolan Caves Road, Jenolan

On arrival: all volunteers need to report to the Volunteer Tent to sign on. This is where you get your Volunteer T-Shirt and Hi-Vis, free lunch voucher and confirm the roles you will be doing.

Parking: volunteers can park for free at the Millionth Acre Recreation Area at the corner of Duckmaloi Rd and Jenolan Caves Rd, Hampton, and will go on the free shuttle bus to the finish. 08.00am shift should be on the 7.45 shuttle bus

Shuttle Bus: buses will be doing a shuttle service from the Duckmaloi Rd corner all day for the 15 minute trip to the finish at Jenolan Caves Cottages

• Bell Ringers at Finish Line - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: Join the iconic bell ringing crew that encourages runners in the last few metres of the race

Location: Jenolan Caves Cottages, Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve, Jenolan Caves Road, Jenolan

• Four Wheel Driver / SAG Wagon - Saturday, 14 March 2026

You must have a largish 4WD and be prepared to attend a training day with the medical team in the weeks before the race.

• Truck Driver (Standard Car Licence) and Truck Offsider - Thursday 12 March to Saturday 14 March

Role: Pick up truck at AVIS, on Thursday afternoon at Artarmon storage. Drive truck to Katoomba and the finish line on Friday Morning, then back to Katoomba for runners bags. Drive truck back to the finish on Saturday morning with runners bags. Free accommodation Friday night.

• Truck Driver (Standard Car Licence) and Truck Offsider - Saturday 14 March or Sunday 15 March 2026

Role: Pick up the truck at the finish line, drive to the storage unit at Artarmon, offload race goods into storage. Return the truck to Avis on Saturday night or Sunday morning. Can stay for free at the finish line cottages Friday night and be refunded an uber home from Artarmon after the offload.

• Artarmon Truck Unloading - Race Merch and Kit Bags - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: Unloading race goods, equipment, supplies and merchandise into the storage unit. Must be able to lift 10kgs boxes. Truckdriver will call you on Saturday evening to confirm exact time.

• Reserve - Race Bib Handout and Bag Drop - Carrington Hotel Katoomba - Friday, 13 March 2026

Role: To replace people who have to withdraw before the day of the race. We will contact you if a job comes up for you.

• Reserve - Katoomba - Park n Ride or Start - Saturday, 14 March 2026

Role: To replace people who have to withdraw before the day of the race. We will contact you if a job comes up for you.
