Every step we take in this year’s Falmouth Road Race carries a purpose far bigger than the miles beneath our feet. We’re not just running for the finish line, we’re running for the kids of Dorchester and their chance at a brighter future. When we lace up our sneakers on race day, we’ll be running to raise funds and awareness for Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester, an organization that has been changing lives in our community for more than 50 years. With three clubhouses in Dorchester and a fourth on the way, BGCD is a second home for over 4,000 young people, from infants just two months old to teens preparing for adulthood. For just $5 a year, children gain access to more than 200 programs that support academic success, healthy lifestyles, leadership development, artistic expression, behavioral health, and social connection. These programs don’t just fill after-school hours, they open doors, build confidence, and create opportunities that last a lifetime. As we push through each mile of the race, we’ll be thinking about the young people who count on places like BGCD to feel safe, supported, and inspired.
