Our story…
We’re proud to be running as part of the Friends of the Cape Cod National Seashore Falmouth Road Race charity team, raising funds to support the Cape Cod National Seashore Lifeguard Program.
Each year, these highly trained lifeguards protect visitors across six beaches and respond to more than 100 emergencies. To keep both lifeguards and visitors safe, essential equipment must be regularly replaced—including beach wheelchairs, rescue paddleboards, and rescue surfboards. This critical gear costs approximately $40,000, and our team is doing everything we can to help meet that need.
Our team runs in memory of Annie Haggerty, a dedicated Seashore lifeguard who served for 19 summers and, in 1990, ran the full length of its sandy beaches. Annie passed away in 2013 from skin cancer, but her legacy continues to inspire generations of lifeguards and runners alike.
Every dollar helps. Thank you for supporting our effort to keep the Seashore safe for all.
