SOO 200 Update
Hi |*FIRST_NAME*|,
We are just a week and a half away! This will be a brief email with a few big updates and clarifications.
In case you missed the last update, you can find it here: https://raceroster.com/events/2026/113061/soo-200/page/soo-200-update-august-26
Make sure to check out the updated course and event information: https://www.sinistersports.ca/soo200/
DROP BAGS + SUPPORT CREWS
As the race is centred out of Stokely Creek Lodge, this will be your main aid station. We announced last week, along with the course changes, that you could also have a drop bag at the Mystic Lake CP. This raised a lot of questions!
- Can my support crew set up a little spot for me at Stokely Creek Lodge?
- Yes! We have access to the grounds of the facility. Just keep it small and tidy. A pop-up tent is fine. We have access to water as well. Why not consider a room or cabin? You are allowed to rest inside.

- Do I need to have a drop bag?
- No. You do not need to use drop bags at all, but we know it can be helpful to have refreshed gear or favourite foods at key locations.
- How big can a drop bag be?
- It should be under 20kg / 44lbs, so that one person can lift it easily.
- Can I have more than one drop bag at Mystic Lake since we go there multiple times?
- Yes! You can have up to four bags. Please do keep them to a reasonable size (not to big, and not so small that they can be easily missed)
- How do I tag my bags?
- We will have tags for you at check-in
- When do drop bags have to be turned in?
- We need them the night before so that we can get them out on the course
- What can go in the bag?
- Nothing perishable, preferably! We do not typically restrict contents, and we do not open them to inspect.
- When does the bag come back to Stokely?
- We bring them back as soon as the checkpoint closes. We will try and get bags for completed racers out early, but it can be logistically difficult.
A Note About Pacers
Just to confirm, your pacer must start and end at Stokely. This means they need to complete a full loop with you. It is a long way! Be sure they are ready and prepared to go the distance. They must abide by all of the rules of the event.
New! Norm's Cabin Drop Bag
We have verified that we are able to transport supplies into Norm's Cabin with an ATV, so we will now allow everyone to have ONE (1 - une - uno - ein) drob bag at Norm's Cabin CP. Choose well!
The website will be updated ASAP with these details.
SEND YOUR VOLUNTEERS!
Races like SOO 200 are nothing without volunteers. Volun-tell your friends and family to sign up to watch you toil in the woods. They all get some premium swag, like a fleece blanket and a hat or shirt, and dinner with the athletes.
Sign them up here: https://www.sinistersports.ca/soo200/volunteer

I'll have another update next week, once we get more questions. Taper hard and we will see you soon!
Kind regards,
Brian Gallant
