Welcome to THE CUMBY 2026!

The Cumberland Hills offer some of the most gorgeous trails anywhere and we hope you will join us as we enter our second decade of trail racing in support of the Cumberland Community Forest Society (“CCFS”)!
Our trails are “fast and friendly” while still offering a hill (or two) to challenge every runner – which is reflected in our 2026 theme of “A HILL FOR EVERY RACER”.
The CUMBY promotes both competition and camaraderie with four race distances to choose from, including our newest addition – The Cumbino – a fun 4.5 km route for kids and novice runners. We work hard to provide a high level of support and race day experience to every one of our racers, including chip timing, custom hand-crafted medals, on course aid stations, hot/cold food, beverages, and a lively beer tent at the finish area.
Race Routes
In addition to the new Cumbino (4.5 km) race, we also have exciting new race routes this year for our traditional Full (25 km), Half (16 km) and Quarter (8.5 km) Cumby races – something for everyone!
Full details of the routes and race day schedules are available on the Race Routes and Race Day Information tabs (left side or top of this page).
In order to help you get comfortable with the routes, we will again offer volunteer-led familiarization runs (April 11th and 18th).
A portion of your fee goes to United Riders of Cumberland (“UROC”) to support their work on the Cumberland Trail Network.
Swag
Check out our 2026 CUMBY custom technical Scimitar running shirts and Outway socks (new this year!). Both are available for purchase only until March 13 to allow for delivery time. Make sure you get yours when you register.

The Cumby Race Rules
Important points regarding waivers, age requirements, transfers and refunds are all available on the The Cumby Race Rules tab on this page. These are all designed to keep everyone safe on race day so please read and understand them. Note that you are able to transfer between races if there is room but we do not provide refunds if you are unable to race.
Fund Raising
As always, we are pleased to support the great work of the Cumberland Community Forest Society (“CCFS”) in acquiring and preserving the forest surrounding Cumberland.
Every year, we donate ALL NET PROCEEDS of our race to CCFS and, over the past ten years, The Cumby is so proud to have raised over a quarter million dollars to assist CCFS in their work! Thanks to all our participants for making that happen.
