Sunday, March 29th, 2026
Join us on Sunday, March 29th for the return of the St. Charles Half Marathon...now called The Dusty Pig! Starting from Missouri Research Park, the 13.1 miles showcase the area's "pig-ture perfect" natural beauty by running the famous "Pork Chop Loop" along a combination of the Katy Trail, Hamburg Trail and Busch Greenway. Participants receive a race shirt and a custom finisher medal celebrating their accomplishment!
Once you finish, enjoy post race snacks and refreshments, including our "Beer & Bacon Station" featuring beer from Good News Brewing and some tasty bacon. We'll also have various other snacks as well, plus Beverly Ann's Cookie Truck will be onsite with warm cookies for purchase.

Charity Partner - Great Rivers Greenway
A portion of The Dusty Pig's proceeds will go towards the Great Rivers Greenway. Great Rivers Greenway works to make the St. Louis region a more vibrant place to live, work and play by developing a regional network of greenways. They'll have a team supporting Aid Station #5 on the course, which happens to be on the Busch Greenway. The pork chop loop would not be possible without the existence of the greenway, so please consider making an additional donation directly to Great Rivers Greenway during registration, or by the link below.
Location & Course
The Dusty Pig Half Marathon course is a unique combination of roads, paved and gravel trails traversing what the locals refer to as the "pork chop loop" due to the distinctive shape the course outline makes. Starting on the Missouri Research Park's wide streets, runners will get off to a quick start as the course necks down to a beautiful, paved trail featuring a 100' elevation drop over the first 1.5 miles. The next 4 miles will allow you to lock into a rhythmic pace on the flat Katy Trail section along the Missouri River. This stretch offers tree and bluff-sheltered running conditions with shade, little wind, and lovely river views. The next section of the course runs on the Hamburg Trail. This 4-mile portion will begin to test your mettle as the double-track, packed gravel trail gradually regains elevation. While uphill, this section features an overhead canopy of trees most of the way. You’ll exit the Hamburg Trail at the Interpretive Center (aka "The Mound") and transition to the smooth asphalt of the Busch Greenway trail. The final 3 miles features rolling hills with views of spring flowers, lakes, and prairie grass as you make your way to the finish.
The course will feature 5 aid stations located near miles 2, 5.75, 7.8, 10, and 11.5. At each volunteer staffed aid station, participants can "pig and choose" between water and Gatorade. However, we encourage participants to carry their own additional nutrition and fluids to suit their personal needs based on weather conditions.
