My Story…
It's been a year since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. Apart from starting on medication in July, the best thing that's had and continues to have an impact on my wellness is attending Parkinson's-focussed exercise classes, like Rock Steady Boxing, at Parkinson Wellness Projects. It's so uplifting to walk into the welcoming environment at PWP. And this non-profit organization provides so much more than exercise classes. While I have yet to take advantage of the counselling, speech language pathology and medication management resources, I know they're there when I need them -- for free! So giving back through this fundraising campaign is something of a selfish act. PWP's continued existence means I get to benefit and enjoy all it has to offer now and in the future. Simply grand! And also grand if you feel like giving too.
