7th Annual JACKASS HALF MARATHON & 5K

Voted the BEST HALF MARATHON IN IDAHO, the Silver Valley Chamber presents the seventh annual Jackass Half Marathon and 5K Race that will take place on October 3, 2026! Come run on the paved Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes starting in historic Wallace and ending in Uptown Kellogg. This top-rated half marathon and 5K race courses are point-to-point and (mostly) downhill, so they are the perfect experience for beginners and a fast course for competitive runners. You'll run along the winding Coeur d'Alene River and through the foothills of the Silver Valley during the most spectacular season of the year. October 2
4:00-7:00 pm: Packet Pick-Up Location TBD in Kellogg (please attend on Friday night for first choice of shirt color/style and a shorter wait at the finish line to pick it up!)
October 3 (ALL RUNNERS/WALKERS MUST RIDE BUS SHUTTLE at Silver Mountain Parking Lot in Kellogg)
7:00-8:30 am: Packet Pick-Up for Half Marathon at Silver Mountain Parking Lot (near finish line)
7:45 am: Bus Shuttle for Half Marathon WALKERS (19-20 min. pace) at Silver Mountain Parking Lot
8:30 am: Mass start for Half Marathon WALKERS (19-20 min. pace) in Wallace (may not receive full aid at early aid stations)
8:00-8:45 am: Bus Shuttle for Half Marathon RUNNERS at Silver Mountain Parking Lot
9:30 am: Mass Start for Half Marathon RUNNERS in Wallace (NO ROLLING START)
10:00-11:00 am: Packet Pick-Up for 5K at Silver Mountain Parking Lot
10:30-11:00 am: Bus Shuttle for 5K at Silver Mountain Parking Lot
11:00-11:30 am: Rolling Start for 5K
11:00 am-1:30 pm: Shirt pick-up, Live Music and Radio Brewing Beer Garden at Finish Line (no awards ceremony)

Kid's Jackass Half Marathon
This kid's half marathon is a non-timed, non-competitive race that is a combination of logging miles on your own before race day and finishing the last 1.1 mile on the day of the race! Download and print the Kid's Half Marathon Log (on the left sidebar of this site) and complete 12 miles on your own before race day. To earn your miles you can run, walk, bike, or swim! You can also log any sport-related events you participate in at your school like soccer, football, track or basketball. Have a parent or coach sign off each mile you complete and finish running or walking the last 1.1 mile of your half marathon on race day! Participants must be old enough to walk and up to 13 years on the day of race-day. All runners will earn a Kid's Jackass Half Marathon t-shirt!

This sub event is for WALKERS only. Walkers who start at 8:30 must plan to ONLY walk (16-17 minute pace max). If you plan to do a combination of walking and running, you must start with the runners at 9:30. Walkers who start at 8:30 but finish faster than 3 hours and 29 minutes will be disqualified.
