"This is a beautiful & fun point-to-point race. Finisher shirts you get to customize, medals made by the local high school shop class, beautiful fall foliage, fun crowd support and delicious beer at the end, this race is always a must for me. The course is great for all levels as it’s primarily on a decline with the exception of one out & back loop in the middle and the last almost mile. It offers enough of a challenge to make you work for a PR and make it worth it once you cross that finish line. Register early to save your spot because this race sells out quick!" -2025 JHM Runner
"I didn’t think I’d ever be a marathon runner. This race has changed my life. It was SO well produced and SO. MUCH. FUN. From check in to aid stations to finish line swag and festivities, I loved every minute. Will definitely be returning." -2025 JHM Runner
"The Jackass Half was such a great race! The weekend started with packet pick up at a great local watering hole, we received great swag including a tote bag and a coffee mug. On race day the start line had great energy, free coffee and awesome volunteers. Having the option for a mass start and a rolling start was great and the course was beautiful. The aid stations were well placed and so much FUN! The volunteers were all having a blast and their energy was infectious. At the finish line there was a great atmosphere with food trucks, beers and live music making it a great place to spend the beautiful fall afternoon." -2022 JHM Runner
"I made a new friend on the bus ride over to Wallace, caught up to my group of running buddies around mile 2, ran into an old college friend at mile 7, and was cheered on as I passed a crew of friends doing the 5k at mile 11 all while running along the river under the bright blue October sky. I finished with a PR and a beer in my hand surrounded by smiling friends old and new alike exchanging hugs." -2022 JHM Runner
"This was my first half marathon and it was an awesome experience! The shuttle to the start line, aid stations, volunteers cheering us on, everything in my experience was rock solid. The energy throughout the whole race was just what I needed to keep pushing on. There is about a 2 mile stretch that is on a road going up a hill and back down, it was challenging but was a welcome change to a downhill course. I loved that each runner got to pick the type of shirt they preferred, I LOVED that and hope its something that continues even as the event grows larger. Communication leading up to the event was excellent and when I reached out to the organizers with a question I received a prompt response. If your from the northwest you probably know the Wallace to Kellogg is beautiful so the scenery is hard to beat in my opinion. This will be a race I continue to participate in for sure!" -2021 JHM Runner
"Register early because word is getting out that this is an excellent race! Lots of cool touches that make this race unique, including pre-race runs “Jackass Jaunts” organized in the months leading up to the race, medals made by the local high school, choice of race shirt color, and the announcer telling finishers “You are a Jackass!” as we crossed the finish line! Very scenic and fast course along the Trail of the Coeur d’ Alenes with lots of beautiful fall foliage. The organizers have done an outstanding job both of the first two years of this race. Communication was consistent and clear." -2021 JHM Runner
"This is a beautiful course! A lot of area runs are just “get them over with” courses, not much see. NOT this course! Running this is a mix between wanting to run fast due to the mostly downhill course, and wanting to stop to take allll the pictures of the breathtaking views! You get to choose your style and color of shirt, too! The swag is the best, the after party is super fun, the course is amazing. I’ve ran it both years, and it’s a definite favorite." -2021 JHM Runner
