Raise awareness for suicide prevention and join us in a journey from darkness into light.

I lost my handsome son Andrew 7 years ago and what I have learned in these last 7 years is that we can help each other and help bring prevention and awareness in many ways.  

All year long I try to talk openly, have and invite conversations to help stop the stigma associated with the word Suicide .

I make people understand that they are not alone and help is there.  I may not have the answers but I will do my best to find the answers with you.

I tell people to listen carefully to the words that someone is saying and never be afraid to ask if they are struggling if you believe they may be and mostly just ask if they are okay. Show them you are listening and care and that you are there for them.

Andrew had this statement on his face book page when he died by suicide and it haunts me.  The lesson is "PAY ATTENTION".  Listen, it may make a difference.

The Centre for Suicide Prevention is an education centre based in Calgary, Canada.  They equip people with the information, knowledge and skills necessary to respond to people considering suicide.  They educate online, in print, and interactively and their library of over 50,000 suicide-specific items, the largest English-language collection of its kind.
