Who can participate?
Everyone. This event is open to runners, walkers, families, allies, and anyone who wants to support Pride and be part of the community.
Where do proceeds go?
Proceeds directly support Charlotte Pride and their work in creating inclusive, visible, and impactful Pride programming in the region.
5K Participation
Do I have to run the 5K?
Not at all. You can run or walk the 5K—there’s no pressure to compete.
Is the event timed?
Yes—the 5K will be professionally timed for those who want to track their results. But whether you’re running, walking, or joining the ZeroK experience, participation looks different for everyone.
Can I bring friends or family?
Absolutely. This is a community-centered event and all are encouraged to attend and participate.
Zero-K Experience
What is the Zero-K?
The Zero-K Experience is a new, inclusive way to participate in the event—no running or walking required. It’s designed for people who want to be part of the energy, community, and celebration without completing the 5K distance.
What does “Zero-K is OK” mean?
It means there’s no one “right” way to show up for Pride. Whether you run, walk, cheer, dance, volunteer, or simply attend—you are part of the movement.
What can I do as part of the Zero-K?
Zero-K participants can:
Cheer on runners and walkers
Dance and enjoy music
Connect with community partners
Visit vendors
Celebrate Pride in a welcoming, high-energy environment
Do I need to register for the ZeroK?

Is the Zero-K replacing the 5K?
Absolutely Not! The Zero-K is an additional option. The QFW 5K run and walk remains the core of the event.
Is the Zero-K still part of the wellness mission?
Yes. Wellness includes connection, community, joy, and belonging. The Zero-K creates access to that environment for more people.
