Boots on the Meridian is a 5K/1 Mile Run/Walk to Support the Cattlemen's Ball.
The Howard and Linda Benjamin and Levi and Bobbie Jo Messersmith families of Cozad, Nebraska are honored to host the 28th Annual Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska.
The Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to raise money for cancer research. 90% of the profits benefit the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, with 10% donated back to local communities’ health and wellness programs.
The Cattlemen’s Ball takes place on June 5 & 6, 2026, North of Cozad. Boots on the Meridian is the 5K and 1 mile run/walk, taking place on the streets of Cozad passing under the 100th Meridian sign on Highway 30.
It’s a family friendly event and is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. A Cattlemen’s Ball ticket is NOT required for participation. Participants who register by May 21st will receive an event t-shirt with their registration fee.
Entry Fee for 5k is $30 and $20 for the 1 mile which includes a soft blend T-shirt and post-race refreshments. Entrants after May 21st will not be guaranteed a t-shirt on race day, but a shirt will be made available for local pick up. RACE DAY registration is accepted.
Packet Pick-up and Day of Race Registration will be from 6:30 AM to 7:15 AM on Saturday, June 6 at the Community Wellness Center in Cozad, NE.
