We invite you to participate as a sponsor for Abby’s Army 5K Benefit Walk/Run. This event is a benefit for Abby Hammons who was recently diagnosed with Stage I Tripe Positive Breast Cancer Invasive Ductal Cell Carcinoma. This type of breast cancer is extremely rare and only accounts for 10% of reported breast cancer cases.
ABOUT ABBY:
Abby was born and raised in Rankin County and graduated from Brandon High School. After high school, Abby then attended Holmes Community College where she graduated as a Surgical Technician. She has since worked at Blair E. Batson Hospital and Mississippi Organ Recovery Agency as a surgical technician for 8 years.
EVENT INFORMATION:
All proceeds from this benefit will go directly to Abby Hammons. The proceeds will assist with medical bills, out-of-pocket costs, and any other expenses during this time. The event will be held at the Flowood Nature Park on June 13, 2026 at 8:00am. We’ve decided to hold this event on June 13th for a special reason - as it’s Abby’s 32nd birthday. Awards will be given for the top qualifiers:
Male Walkers: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place
Female Walkers: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
Male Runners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place
Female Runners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place
* This event will be held rain or shine. No refunds available.
