Can I participate for free?
Yes. The Community Access option allows participants to join the 5K Walk/Run for free. This option includes participation only and does not include chip timing, a finisher medal, an event t-shirt, or award eligibility.
What is included with each registration level?
Community Access includes free untimed participation.
Community Supporter includes official chip timing and a personalized race bib.
Prevention Champion includes official chip timing, personalized race bib, and a finisher medal.
Impact Advocate includes official chip timing, personalized race bib, finisher medal, event t-shirt, and award eligibility.
Sprinter's Village Premier Registration includes the ultimate race-day experience with all of the above, plus exclusive access to Sprinter's Village, food and beverage service, and executive restroom access.
Can I walk instead of run?
Absolutely! Dash4Diabetes welcomes runners, walkers, families, beginners, and experienced athletes alike.
Can I register for the 10K?
Yes. The Double Dash Challenge (10K) is available for participants looking for a longer challenge and includes official chip timing, a personalized race bib, finisher medal, and event t-shirt.
What is Sprinter's Village Premier Registration?
Sprinter's Village Premier Registration is our premium race-day experience. Participants may choose either the 5K or 10K and receive official chip timing, a personalized race bib, finisher medal, event t-shirt, exclusive access to Sprinter's Village, food and beverage service, and executive restroom access.
Timing & Awards
Who receives official chip timing?
Community Supporter, Prevention Champion, Impact Advocate, Double Dash Challenge (10K), and Sprinter's Village Premier Registration participants all receive official chip timing.
Are Community Access participants timed?
No. Community Access participants may walk or run the 5K, but this free registration option is not timed.
Who is eligible for awards?
For the 5K, award eligibility is included with the Impact Advocate and Sprinter's Village Premier Registration options. The 10K will feature its own overall and age group awards.
Can I receive an official finish time without choosing Impact Advocate?
Yes. Community Supporter and Prevention Champion participants receive official finish times but are not eligible for awards.
Shirts & Medals
Who receives a finisher medal?
Prevention Champion, Impact Advocate, Double Dash Challenge (10K), and Sprinter's Village Premier Registration participants receive a finisher medal.
Who receives an event t-shirt?
Impact Advocate, Double Dash Challenge (10K), and Sprinter's Village Premier Registration participants receive an official event t-shirt.
Can I change my t-shirt size after registering?
Shirt size changes may be limited after the ordering deadline. Participants are encouraged to select their preferred size carefully during registration.
Teams & Mission Partnerships
Can organizations participate as a group?
Yes. Businesses, churches, schools, civic groups, nonprofits, and community organizations may participate through a Mission Partnership Package or simply create a team during the registration process. There is no charge to create a team, making it easy to invite coworkers, family members, friends, or fellow organization members to participate together.
Can some team members choose the 5K while others choose the 10K?
Yes. Team members may choose the event that best fits their goals. Teams may include participants registered for the 5K Walk/Run, 5K Run, or Double Dash Challenge (10K).
How do Mission Partnership Access Codes work?
After an organization purchases a Mission Partnership Package, Smart Health Initiatives provides an Access Code. Team members use the code during Race Roster registration to activate their Sprinter's Village Premier Registration.
What is included in Sprinter's Village?
Sprinter's Village offers an elevated race-day hospitality experience that includes premium hospitality, food and beverage service, executive restroom access, and a welcoming environment for Mission Partners and Premier Registration participants.
Event Day
When does the event begin?
Dash4Diabetes runs from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Race start times are:
10K Run: 9:15 AM
5K Run: 9:25 AM
5K Walk: 9:35 AM
Fun Run: 9:40 AM
Where is the event?
Dash4Diabetes Jacksonville takes place at Lonnie C. Miller Regional Park in Jacksonville, Florida.
Is the event family-friendly?
Absolutely! Dash4Diabetes is designed for individuals, families, teams, schools, churches, and community organizations.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes. Strollers are welcome. For the safety of all participants, those using strollers are asked to begin with the 5K Walk at 9:35 AM.
Are pets allowed?
Pet policies will be announced closer to race day based on park regulations and event safety considerations.
Will there be health resources onsite?
Yes. The Health & Wellness Village will feature community partners, health screenings, wellness resources, educational exhibits, and activities designed to promote healthier living.

Is the event rain or shine?
Yes. Dash4Diabetes will take place rain or shine unless severe weather or other conditions create an unsafe environment for participants.
Are registrations refundable?
No. Registration fees are non-refundable unless you purchase the optional Enhanced Refund Protection during registration and qualify under the provider's terms and conditions.
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
No. Registrations are non-transferable.
Can I upgrade my registration after registering?
Yes. Participants wishing to upgrade their registration should contact us at inquiry@smarthealthinitiatives.org. Upgrades are processed manually and are subject to availability.

I don't want us to forget this. Since the Fun Run now appears in the event schedule, it should also appear as a registration option so the registration experience matches the published race schedule. Once that's added, we'll also want to include a brief description (distance, age recommendation if any, and whether it's timed or untimed) so the Race Roster page remains consistent throughout.
