Who can take part in Stroke ’N Stride?
Stroke ’N Stride is open to both kids and adults across a range of race distances, provided participants meet the minimum age requirements set by AusTriathlon.
How is age determined?
Age is determined based on the participant’s age on 31 December 2026, in line with the AusTriathlon season (1 July to 30 June).
What are the minimum age requirements?
- Kids 1.1km: 7–9 years old
- Kids 2.3km: 10–13 years old
- Open 1 Lap: 12+ years old
- Open 2 Laps: 14+ years old
Can exceptions be made for younger participants?
No. These age limits are set by AusTriathlon and apply to all aquathlons and triathlons across Australia.
Kids Race FAQs
Will kids races have podiums or leaderboards?
No. Kids races focus on fun, fitness, participation, and confidence building rather than competition.
Will kids still receive results and times?
Yes. Participants will still receive event times and results for each race.
Are there prizes for kids races?
Instead of podium prizes, there will be fun presentations and random prizes at the end of each event morning.
Open Race FAQs
What age categories are used for open races?
- U15: 12–14 years old
- U18: 15–17 years old
- Open: 18–39 years old
- Masters: 40+ years old
How are participants grouped?
Participants are grouped by age category for results, leaderboard standings, and series prizes.

How much does it cost to enter?
Kids
- $15 per race with a 3 or 5 race pass
- $20 single race entry
Open 1 Lap
- $25 per race with a 3 or 5 race pass
- $30 single race entry
Open 2 Laps
- $30 per race with a 3 or 5 race pass
- $35 single race entry
Can I enter on race day?
Yes, but only single race entries are available on the day.
Are series passes discounted?
Yes. Discounted pricing is available when purchasing 3 or 5 race passes.
AusTriathlon Licence FAQs
Do I need an AusTriathlon One Day Licence?
Yes, unless you are already an AusTriathlon Standard or Premium annual member.
How much is the One Day Licence?
The AusTriathlon One Day Licence (ODL) costs $2.00, which we have subsidised from the standard $4.50.
Why is the ODL required?
The ODL provides insurance coverage and is required under the event’s Public Liability insurance.
Refund & Transfer FAQs
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
No. Entries are non-refundable.
Can I transfer my entry to another person?
No. Entries are non-transferable.
Can I transfer to another race in the series?
No. Transfers between races in the series are not permitted.
Weather & Course FAQs
What happens if the course changes?
The course may be adjusted before or during the event for safety or operational reasons. Entry fees remain non-refundable if the event proceeds in an alternate format.
What happens if the event is cancelled due to weather?
If severe weather, dangerous conditions, or other circumstances outside event control cause cancellation, entry fees remain non-refundable.
Why are refunds not offered for weather cancellations?
Community events require significant upfront planning and operational costs regardless of weather outcomes.
