WHO WE ARE

The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) Save-A-Limb Fund Mission Statement and Funding Goals

Established in 2001, the Save-A-Limb Fund supports children and adults who have complex limb and joint disorders by saving their limbs, preserving their joints and enhancing the quality of their lives, both domestically and abroad.

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM

One in 125 children is born with a limb deficiency, and many others suffer from limb deformities. Some children undergo amputation because they do not have the resources to travel to a specialist and pay for limb lengthening or reconstruction surgery.

Over time, many people's joints wear down, creating painful conditions that make simply walking to the door an excruciating task. Whether from degeneration, arthritis, or injury, some people are unable to receive treatment because they cannot afford the cost of surgery or physical therapy. They are forced to alter their lives because of the pain, giving up many of the activities that previously brought them joy.

The Save-A-Limb Fund supports children and adults with complex limb and joint disorders by funding life-changing care, groundbreaking research, and specialized treatment that helps save limbs, preserve joints, and improve quality of life. Your fundraising also helps provide financial assistance to families in need, supports international medical outreach, advances orthopedic innovation, funds scholarships for future healthcare professionals, and equips specialists with the tools they need to deliver the best possible care.
