Annual Water Fountain Fundraising Initiative

The Peachtree City Running Club is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Since 1983, our club has proudly donated water fountains to Peachtree City as a way to give back to our community. This tradition has become a memorial to the founding members of the running club and all those who dedicated their time to making Peachtree City a runner-friendly community. Our primary goal for this fundraising campaign is to replace as many of the 3+ outdated or non-freeze-resistant water fountains as possible.

The last two years, our organization allocated club funds to replace the water fountain at Luther Glass Park and Battery Way Park, investing around $22,000 for the new unit—nearly double our historical expenses. While this was a significant investment, it has proven to be a blessing for many athletes during the cold winter months. Currently, Peachtree City has at least four fountains in need of replacement. The original freeze-resistant fountains are outdated, and the parts required to keep them functional are no longer manufactured. After 30+ years, it’s time for these fountains to be replaced.

Although the city graciously maintains and repairs the fountains, the cost of this project exceeds what our club can handle financially. You might wonder why the city doesn’t cover these expenses; while they have handled the upkeep for 40 years, the responsibility for replacing the fountains falls on our club. This water fountain tradition began with us, and it should remain one of our main initiatives to honor those who have passed.

We cannot do this alone, and we need your help to make this happen! Please consider supporting our cause to purchase one or more freeze-resistant fountains this year. With your assistance, we can keep all the fountains operational year-round and maintain these memorials to our founding club members.
