Thank you – The Bay Area Human Race was an amazing community event on Saturday, May 7th & the rain held off until after the 5k race! Donations will be accepted until Friday, May 27th both in person and online. There's still time to support your favorite nonprofit, school or community group.

Our community’s nonprofits lift our most vulnerable populations, endangered lands, and cultural institutions — it’s time to lift them!

Event Day Details

Begins and Ends at:
Marin Center Fairgrounds and Lagoon
10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, CA 94903

5K timed mostly flat course around the Marin Center Fairgrounds and Lagoon
All levels and ages welcome
Wheelchair accessible; part of the race course is dirt
Well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed but must be registered as a dog walker
Strollers are allowed
Sorry, no bicycles, scooters or skates

Parking is available on-site at the Marin Center Fairgrounds and across the street in the overflow dirt parking lot. No parking on the lagoon side of Civic Center Drive on the day of the race. Parking attendant volunteers from the Las Gallinas Lions Club will help direct you to the nearest parking spot.

Bib & T-shirt pick-up

If you are part of a team, please contact your team leader to first verify that your team leader will pick up your bib & t-shirt for you. Team leaders, please identify a place or landmark to meet your group on race day.

If you are not part of a team, you can pickup your race bib & t-shirt in the 2 days before the race. I'm accepting appointments Thurs 5/5 & Friday 5/6 every half hour at CVNL (65 Mitchell Blvd., Suite 101, San Rafael, CA 94903). Please email Molly Schmidt at mschmidt@cvnl.org and include a list of everyone you are collect bibs for.

Or, if you pre-registered for the Bay Area Human Race, bibs can be picked up the morning of the race at Will Call from 7am-8am.

Volunteer for the Human Race

Volunteer for the largest collaborative fundraising event — the CVNL Bay Area Human Race.

It takes a village to make the Bay Area Human Race run smoothly. We are looking for over 100 volunteers to help us with many race related activities. We need volunteers on the two days prior to the event and of course, on race day.

Distribute bibs and t-shirts
Register runners
Manage water and refreshment stations
Lead the children's races
Set-up, break-down and more!
