The Island Lake Classic 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk starts and ends in picturesque Island Lake Conservation Area, in the Town of Mono, next door to Orangeville. Groomed trails, boardwalk, and mildly challenging woodland trails guarantee an enjoyable event. The park setting, a free children's fun-run, and post race BBQ mean that you can make this a day out for the entire family.
Please note, admission to the park is free for participants and volunteers. Just tell staff at the gate you are with the run. Also note, some trails are not suitable for jogging strollers or wheel chairs.

About the 10K Route
The inaugural running of the 10K Lakeside Loop was in 2015. Work creating a trail which circumnavigates Island Lake was completed in July of 2015. The 10K run follows the 5K route for the first 1.2 kilometres before proceeding around the lake on bridges, boardwalks, and groomed trails.

About the 5K Route
The 5K route is a well marked loop along the southern shore of Island Lake on well groomed trail, boardwalk, and woodland trails.
The route starts in the park at the pavilion, heads out the park entrance, zips down to the dam and splits from the 10K runners to heads back into the park and the UPPER TRAIL, past the Maple Sugar Shack, down to the beach on wood chip trails, joining the THE VICKI BARRON LAKESIDE TRAIL to head back to the finish.
Very pretty. Lots of views of the lake. Note - some of these trails are not suitable for jogging strollers.

Family Day-Out
Consider making it a family day-out by entering as a 'group' in the 5K run/walk and or the 10K.
Simply sign up 4 or more for a $5 discount per person (after early bird).
For 10 years and under, there is a children's fun-run which is approximately 250 meters on grass.
Fun Run includes a participation ribbon, as well as prize and snack. Children must be registered by 9:25 am.
We encourage you to stay after the race for refreshments. BBQ lunch sponsored by Sobeys - Foodland will be available.
Be sure to take a walk on our new bridges connecting north and south trails of Island Lake!
Bib Pick-up
Early bib pick-up will be available at the Running Free store at 88 First St. in Orangeville on Saturday, September 2 from 10 am to 5pm.
On race day, bib pick-up will be available at 8:30 - 9:30 am at the race site at the pavilion at Island Lake Conservation Area.
