To whom it may concern,

I am a Pediatrician in Kitchener Waterloo and the Founder/Chair Person for the Kitchener Kids With Cancer Run. This annual event raises money to support childhood cancer through POGO (Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario). As a pediatrician, caring for children with cancer, I see first hand how this horrible disease affects not just the child but the whole family. Families lives are put on hold, jobs are lost, family incomes are drastically decreased, and school years are lost. These wonderful and inspirational children, however, go on fighting and thanks to all the treatment research (supported by POGO), we have great success rates.

POGO provides financial assistance to families, interlink nursing and research into new therapies. POGO also has a satellite clinic at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, and other community hospitals across Ontario, so that our children can receive cancer treatment and medical management closer to home.  This annual event is celebrating its 5th year.  To date with your help, we have raised over $100,000 and we continue to be one of the top fundraisers for POGO.   What a great way to support these young children and their families with the fight of their life.
