Mon histoire…

Hi everyone, It is that time of year when I reach out to everyone hoping that you will support the MOSD through my participation in the Scotia Charity Challenge race that allows us to participate as an MOSD team to raise much needed funds for many of the programs we deliver to children with hearing loss. Every day, I watch a dedicated team of teachers and audiologists deliver our services to children with hearing loss - teaching them to "listen and speak". The other thing I have witnessed, is the dedication of families and friends. No one asks for their child to be born deaf, lose their hearing through illness or other. After the initial shock of a diagnosis, everyone does what they can to ensure their child has the best and they are grateful each and every day for our professional team. But the most precious thing I get to witness, is the children themselves - each with their own distinct personality and so eager to learn. Thank you for helping me help! VERY grateful!

Description

The MOSD Foundation is the fundraising arm for the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf. The school's primary mission is to teach children with hearing loss to learn to listen and speak. The MOSD offers a family centered auditory verbal intervention program in the home or in the child's daycare for children from birth to three years old. In addition, we provided continuous habilitation, education and audiology support to the children through young adulthood. The ultimate goal for every MOSD student is to integrate fully into their neighbourhood school while being supported fully through our itinerant teaching program. Every dollar raised will be used towards the add-on services integral to each child's success.

The MOSD needs you! It takes a village to provide the support we do and we hope you can join us in making this day the BEST yet. It is a day for family and friends to connect, share stories and meet new friends while raising money for the foundation. You won't want to miss the surprises we have in store to make this our best race day yet.
