VIRTUAL RUN FAQs
The purpose of going virtual is to allow participants to complete the 11th Annual Pink Pumpkin Run, while adhering to the recommendations provided by the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
ALL REGISTERED PARTICIPANTS will be automatically entered into the Pink Pumpkin Run Virtual Race in the category in which they registered and will receive their race kits via USPS mail starting on October 1, 2020 including:
- Special Edition Long-Sleeve Tech Shirt and Swag Bag
- Finisher’s Medal for EVERY participant!
- Virtual Bib + Finisher's Certificate
- A 30% off coupon for our 2021 Pink Pumpkin Run
- Most importantly, the satisfaction of knowing you have supported breast cancer services and patients at Marshall Medical Centers!
You are not obligated to submit your race results in order to receive your race kit.
WHEN AND WHERE DO I HAVE TO RUN MY VIRTUAL EVENT?
Choose any day between October 12 and October 28 to run your 5k, 10k or 1 mile Fun Run. As far as the route, this is YOUR race! You can run on a treadmill or choose your own route for the virtual event - although we do suggest adhering to all public health guidelines. Follow these virtual race tips to get the most out of your experience.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY 2020 VIRTUAL RACE RESULTS?
To record your virtual run you have a number of options. If you have a GPS tracking device or software (ie. Garmin, FitBit, Apple Watch) you will simply manually enter your finish time and also include a screenshot or image of the result from your device/software (under 2MB). If you do not have a device or would like to try out the free app, you can record your virtual run through ASICS Runkeeper™. Remember that to submit your virtual run result you will need to sign in to your Race Roster account.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY RACE KIT?
Your race kit will be mailed to you at the shipping address you provide starting October 1, 2020. We will also email you a customizable virtual bib before the event window and a customizable certificate once you upload your results. Please share your virtual finish line photos on social media using the hashtag #VirtualPinkPumpkinRun. Everyone who registers for the Virtual Pink Pumpkin Run will receive a promo code in November 2020 which will entitle them to 30% off the 2021 Pink Pumpkin Run.
WILL THERE BE AWARDS FOR THE VIRTUAL EVENT?
Yes, in fact, everyone will receive a finishers medal in their race kit! In addition, the top finishers in each event will receive awards AND thanks to our race sponsors and partners there will be random prize draws between October 1 and October 30, 2020!
