Run (Walk, Yoga, Bake...) for Wildlife!

YOU can be part of a community-wide effort to help wildlife.
Join us as we host the first ever Wildlife Rescue Run!
HOW?
This is a virtual event - simply register below and you are in! You can register as an individual, create a team or sign up as part of a team.
WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR PARTICIPATION?
- 1K Walk or Run
- 5K Walk or Run
- 10K Walk or Run
- Activity of your choice (examples: yoga, bake, read, knit, paint, etc.)
We encourage posting about your participation to social media with the hashtag #GCWRrun4wildlife.
SWAG & PRIZES
All participants will automatically receive a medal. Other awesome items can be earned through fundraising! All items will be mailed to you after the event.
WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?
All funds go to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit wildlife rehabilitation center in Placer County, CA. During 2019, we provided care to nearly 3,500 injured and orphaned animals.
Our goal is to raise at least $20,000, which will help us build larger animal enclosures in a more natural setting at our own property that we are moving to in 2021!
TEAMS & TEAM PRIZES
Teams make this extra fun – and teams can earn extra prizes! Anyone can create or join a team as you register for the event. Business teams are welcome and encouraged! When you create a team, a customizable "pledge page" will be created for your team members to share. To join an existing team, just select the team's name in the drop down box as you register. For more information, please see the Team FAQ and our Fundraising Guide.
Note: Teams do not have to complete their activity together – we encourage social distancing.
FUNDRAISING & PRIZES
We hope that you will consider raising funds to help Gold Country Wildlife Rescue's efforts to care for injured and orphaned wildlife. You can earn prizes for as little as $50 raised! Every registration automatically generates a fundraising "pledge" page that you can customize and share with family and friends. Please see the Fundraising Guide for ideas on how to achieve your goal, and to see the prizes you can earn.

10/16/2020: Registration and Fundraising Opens
11/1/2020: Begin walking, running or doing your other activity
11/30/2020: Participation and Fundraising Closes
December 2020: Swag and fundraising prize items are mailed to you*
*Note: If you register after November 16th there may be a delay in mailing.
RESULTS
Recording your results is OPTIONAL and can be done on this website after November 1.
