My Story…
My name is Addison and I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis subtype psoriatic/oligoarticular in the summer of 2020.
It all started when my knee started to swell up a ton and hurt a lot after a hike in July. When I woke up I could barely walk. The doctors weren't sure if I had torn my meniscus, an infection, had bursitis, or arthritis. After a very long day of awful tests and doctors, I was referred to BCCH to get my diagnosis.
I had two steroid joint injections; one in my left knee and one my right elbow. I tried a few different medications but I am currently taking methotrexate through weekly home injections.
I like to keep track of my bloodwork... So far I have had bloodwork drawn 9 times with 20 vials of blood taken. And I have had 16 injections of methotrexate to date!
I am stronger than Juvenile Arthritis!
