In-Person 5k Race Details:
Race Day: Sat. October 23, 2021 – 9:00am – 11:30am
We have 300 spots available and we will have three separate start times based on estimated finishing times.
Each starting group/wave will be capped at 100 participants to ensure everyone is able to maintain a physical distance of at least 2m from others.
All participants must have received two doses of a COVID-19 approved Health Canada vaccine. All participants will be required to show proof of full vaccination, along with the photo ID, to access the race site. No exceptions will be made as our highest priority is the safety of everyone involved in the race.
Corral Start Times: your corral assignment is based on your estimated finishing time
9:00am – RED CORRAL - under 28:00 minutes
9:45am – YELLOW CORRAL - 28:01 - 32:00 minutes
10:30am – BLUE CORRAL - 32:01 minutes and over
Key Race Day Details
- To ensure that the race venue and route are as safe as possible and that we adhere to physical distancing guidelines, we will have a separate start line and a separate finish line.
- Masks must be worn at all times EXCEPT when you are running the race.
- The start line will be approximately 200m south of the finish line (map can be viewed here).
- Volunteers will be on-site to direct you to your pre-race corral area and they will then escort you to the start line area.
- We are not able to provide race day kit pick up or a baggage check area at this race
- There will not be a water station on the route
- After you finish your race, your finisher medal, water and snacks will be available for you to take away and enjoy at your leisure.
- We ask that you proceed to your vehicle or transportation option upon finishing the race and exiting the race site.
Race Day Schedule for Saturday October 23
Step 1 - Arrive at Sunnybrook Park – 1132 Leslie St. Toronto
- Do not arrive more than 20 minutes before your start time to the race site
- If you are early, please wait in your vehicle.
- Allow 5 -10 minutes to walk from the parking lots to the race site
- Volunteers will be available to answer any questions
Step 2 – Proceed to the Race Site at Wilket Creek Park, Area #2
Note: Current Public Health guidelines require that masks must be worn at all times EXCEPT when you are running and physical distancing must be maintained. All participants will be required to show proof of full vaccination, along with the photo ID, to access the race site. No exceptions will be made as our highest priority is the safety of everyone involved in the race.
- Do not arrive more than 20 minutes before your start time to the race site
- Your race bib must be worn on race day to access the race site area.
- Your race bib will be included in your race kit.
- The pre-race corral staging area is for participants ONLY.
- Physical distancing must be maintained at all times.
- Volunteers will direct you to the pre race corral area as the start line is located approximately 200m south of the finish line.
Step 3 – Start Line Corrals
- Your assigned starting corral will be sub-divided into groups of 25 participants per corral
- Each sub-corral group of 25 runners will wait until they are called to the start line at one minute intervals
- Volunteers will escort your group to the start line to begin your race.
- Please listen carefully to the instructions provided to ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment.
- We estimate that you could be in your start corral approximately 15 minutes before you start to run
- You will be required to wear your mask until you cross the start line and begin the race
- Once you start the race, you can remove your mask.
- After you have finished the race, you will be required to put your mask on again.
Step 4 – Post-Race
- Once you cross the finish line, please keep moving as you celebrate your return to in-person racing with us!
- Water, snacks and your finisher medal will be waiting for you once you cross the finish line
- Please continue through the post race area and avoid gathering around the finish area.
- Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer any post-race celebrations this year.
