The LGBT YouthLine team is so excited to join the Constantine Yorkville Run!

Over the past year, our work supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth through isolation has been more important than ever. Social isolation is not new for 2SLGBTQ+ youth. However, the love, support, and commitment of our communities has ensured we continue to survive, adapt, and be here for thousands of youth across Ontario.

By joining us, you will be supporting YouthLine in providing Peer Support and leadership opportunities to thousands of 2SLGBTQ+ across Ontario. This includes:

Peer Support HelpLine

For over 25 years, LGBT YouthLine has been providing confidential and anonymous support to thousands of 2SLGBTQ+ youth across Ontario.  

Youth (29 & under) can call, text, or chat to speak with a peer support volunteer six nights a week. All our HelpLine volunteers are trained peer supporters aged 16-29, coming from a diversity of 2SLGBTQ+ identities and lived experiences. 

 Some common things youth call, text, or chat to talk about include: Questioning gender identity and/or sexual orientation, coming out, mental health, peer and/or familiar relationships, feeling socially isolated, and seeking referrals or information.

Leadership Opportunities

Our model is unique – as a 2SLGBTQ+ youth-led organization, every level of YouthLine fosters and prioritizes youth leadership. These opportunities are few and far between for 2SLGBTQ+ youth, where they can be their whole selves while building skills and self-confidence to make an impact within their communities. Ranging from our leadership programs, like The Provincial Youth Ambassador Project (PYAP) and YouthOrganize, or youth leadership within our HelpLine, Board, and staff, we bring together 2SLGBTQ+ youth from across the province to increase 2SLGBTQ+ programming, strengthen leadership skills, and build networks amongst 2SLGBTQ+ youth in their local regions.

LGBT YouthLine is a 2SLGBTQ youth-led organization that affirms and supports the experiences of youth (29 and under) across Ontario. We do this by:

1. Providing anonymous peer support and referrals
2. Training youth to provide support to other youth; and
3. Providing resources so youth can make informed decisions
