Canada’s youth are often voiceless in decisions that affect their future. Their opinions are often discounted because they "lack experience" or "they don't see the full picture". Yet we know young people hold innovations & fresh ideas that can help solve our biggest environmental problems.

You’ve probably heard that saying: “youth are the leaders of tomorrow.” The truth is - they’re also the leaders of today. 

The Starfish Canada is the nation's leading organization in youth empowerment, climate action and environmental justice. Since 2010, we have celebrated the ideas and innovations of young people working for the betterment of people and the planet. 

We support young leaders through three streams:

- We educate youth through environmental workshops in elementary and high schools, with a focus on districts where students face systemic barriers to quality education;

- We engage young writers through our award-winning, peer-to-peer mentorship program, where we teach technical online writing skills and syndicate youth journalism through national media outlets;

- We celebrate and support youth leadership through our Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 award, where winners receive mentorship and access to career development and funding opportunities.

We fundamentally believe in the power of youth. Your contribution will directly fuel our programs and provide direct support to youth leaders across the country.
