Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy, active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Our 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place at beautiful Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Charter Township, Michigan (approximately 20 miles NE of downtown Detroit). The paved course winds among the trees and along Lake St. Clare's shoreline.
Register by August 21 to guarantee this year's t-shirt.
Join us for refreshments, SCAD store, Quilt drawings, face painting and fun for all.

This is a great way to meet other survivors and families of SCAD Angels while enjoying a delicious buffet dinner at:
