9th Annual National 5K SCADaddle for Research

Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. Most patients are younger healthy women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Our 5K chip timed run/walk takes place at Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. The USATF certified 5K course runs through and around the park on a varied terrain of crushed cinder, concrete, sidewalk and grass. From Butterfield Road, head south on Naperville Road and travel about 0.75 miles.
The run starts at 9:00 am and all participants will be timed.
Awards will be given to overall winner male and female. Medals/recognition will be given to 2nd and 3rd place male/female overall and to the top three males/females for age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.
Register by August 12 to guarantee your 5K t-shirt.
Join us for refreshments, our SCAD store, Silent Auction, Quilt drawing & fun for all - Cornhole, face painting & hula hoops.
Race Details
Race Day Registration: 7:30 - 8:15 am. Early Packet Pick Up: 4:00 - 6:30 pm. Embassy Suites 1823 Abriter Ct, Naperville, IL. We cannot guarantee a t-shirt for early PPU or race day registration. Please note, online registration closes at midnight on Wednesday August 25 .

The group rate is $149/night plus tax.
1 king suite or 2 queen/2 room suites are available for 8/27. Your stay includes WIFI, an evening reception, a cooked-to-order hot breakfast and free parking.
Reserve by August 6 to secure this discounted rate. After Aug 6 the hotel will release unreserved rooms.

Chip Timing: We use a disposable chip timing tag that runners receive at packet pick up on their race bibs. It is lightweight and remains attached to the race bib. Runners must wear their race bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. Please do not layer over the bib, hold it in your hand or put it in your pocket. Do not bend the chip. Smart watches such as Garmin and smart phones can interfere with the timing chip frequency. Please do not adjust your watch or phone as you cross the finish line and come through the chute. Disputes for times on Smart watches and smart phones will not be taken into consideration.
