EXCITING NEWS: Both races are now USATF Sanctioned AND Certified!
2023 course updates are listed below.
Sanction #142687
Half Marathon Certification Number: NC23011DF
The Jump Off Rock Half Marathon and 10k are now officially USA Track and Field sanctioned AND certified! This means we’ve got a few course updates to share with you. Rest assured, all roads will be clearly marked, and volunteers will be on hand to guide you.
Here are the updates you need to know:
- The half marathon start line has been moved closer to the rock, giving you a chance to snap even more awe-inspiring selfies before taking off!
- Half Marathon - As you run down Tom’s Drive, you’ll skip a previous uphill section, and instead, take a sharp turn down Eastramp Road. This leads to the ever-popular Orchard Circle, a fan favorite!
- Both the Half and the 10k will now have a longer stretch on 4th Avenue before turning left onto Valley, and then another left onto 3rd Avenue. This will help ease congestion at the N. Whitted and 4th Avenue intersection - something we’re sure you’ll appreciate!
- Half & 10k - Finally, we’ve made things a little easier on you at the Dam. Instead of taking a sharp left onto the little rabbit trail, you’ll now go straight through the dam exit.
We hope you’re as excited as we are about these updates! As always, our goal is to make this race an unforgettable experience for everyone!
HALF MARATHON:
The point-to-point half marathon begins at Jump off Rock, a national landmark and the Town of Laurel Park’s highest peak, and finishes in the heart of downtown Hendersonville on Main Street. This gently downhill and scenic 13.1 mile course is fast and has breathtaking views, but we are in the mountains of WNC and some hills are to be expected. Half Marathoners will wind their way downhill through the beautiful back-roads of Laurel Park then on historic city streets and around Hendersonville’s Osceola Lake before heading into downtown Hendersonville. The point-to-point race and the scenic course are sure to bring PRs and mountain memories to last a lifetime.
10k:
10k runners will start their race at the base of the Town of Laurel Park. They will join in on the half marathon route at about the half-way point with half marathoners. The 10k route is paved surfaces and moderately flat with a couple gentle rollers. The 10k runners will run on historic city streets, around the Hendersonville’s Osceola Lake and back to downtown Hendersonville.
Both races will finish at the same location in Historic Downtown Hendersonville on Main Street.
