My Story…
A colonoscopy in 2021 uncovered a very large tumor in the sigmoid section of my colon. My colon was almost completely blocked and I required emergency surgery. Additional testing found that the cancer had spread beyond my colon to my lymph nodes and up to my liver, where they found 23 additional tumors on my liver. My cancer was Stage 4; the worst news possible. My prognosis was grim: 80% likelihood that i would be dead within 3 years. As you can imagine, this was heartbreaking news for me, my wife, and our two teenage sons. But right then and there I vowed that this bully cancer was not going to beat me. I would fight, and while I was doing that I would also fight cancer on a greater level - in the community at large, through advocacy and fundraising. 19 months later I am No Evidence of Disease! But I'm still fighting. Please help me support CCRAN, a wonderful charity that offers incredible support and resources to colorectal cancer patients like me.
