2024 Point to La Pointe - Open Water Swim
WAITLIST INFORMATION:
*please note* As of 1/19/24 there are 75+ people on the waitlist. Our best guess is that it is very unlikely that you will get a spot in the 2024 race at this point.
We do have a few spots open for those who wish to fundraise $500+ for their race entry. Please email Ursula@bayfieldrec.org for more info.
You must sign up and pay a non-refundable $50.00 deposit to get on the waiting list.
Waiting list spots will open as people cancel their registration and we can reassign their spots. This means you might not be notified until June 30th if a spot has opened up for you. We will not be filling spots after June 30th. As soon as we are notified of a cancellation, we will contact individuals on the waiting list in the order in which they signed up.
The deposit accomplishes two things:
· It ensures we do not end up with 300 people on the waiting list that we have to contact and purchase swag for, and
· It ensures we have swag ready for you should you get a spot, but please remember, there is no guarantee that you will get a spot.
If you DO get a spot, your $50 deposit goes toward your registration fee.
If you DO NOT get a spot to swim in the race, your $50 deposit will be used toward an Event Hoodie and swim cap, which can be picked up or shipped to you if you are not local to the area.
Swimming to Madeline Island has been a storied feat around the Bayfield area for decades. Starting as a community swim for 24 people in 2006, the Point to La Pointe has grown into a thriving race that sells out annually.
