About BCP

BCP is bringing income and racial equity to pediatric healthcare by providing all families, but particularly those with low-income, with comprehensive, high-quality, culturally competent care that puts the patient at the forefront of its delivery model, regardless of their insurance coverage or ability to pay. BCP has three main goals: 1) Ensure Boston’s children have access to the highest quality pediatric health care; 2) Increase access to, and reduce the stigma of, mental health care; and 3) Address social determinants of health through comprehensive, relationship-driven care and resource navigation. Just under four years ago, BCP opened its doors to the world - it was a vision, a dream, and a big leap of faith. It is now a disruptive healthcare model that is changing lives. BCP chose to start our flagship office in the middle of a gentrified area that has the highest percentage of affordable housing. In the one-mile radius surrounding BCP, there is a 23-year difference in life expectancy between residents of Roxbury and residents of Back Bay. Yet within the walls of BCP, there is equity in pediatrics. BCP now has over 1,500 patients, most of whom have MassHealth. BCP has doubled their beautiful and welcoming office space where they provide truly integrated mental health, care navigation, and wellness services along with the highest quality pediatric care to everyone who walks through the door. This is thanks to the generosity of donors like you. Join me by donating to team BCP for the 52nd annual Falmouth Road Race to help secure all BCP has achieved and to continue setting a new standard for how pediatric care should be delivered to all children.

Description

Boston Community Pediatrics (BCP) is the first nonprofit pediatric private practice in Massachusetts.

BCP is pioneering a new model of pediatric healthcare that prioritizes patients over profits. This work would not be possible without donors like you and here’s why: A typical visit at BCP includes at least 45-60 minutes of time with an experienced, well-trained physician. BCP also provides additional help in a dignified manner: groceries, a hygiene kit, diapers and wipes, feminine hygiene products, age-appropriate books, and more. Patients and families may also meet with a mental health clinician, a care navigator, or a family partner, who then spends another 60 minutes of individualized time. At BCP, the average reimbursement for an appointment with these services is $118. The true cost of this care is closer to $333.
