Course
The Earth Day 5K course Start and Finish Lines are in the same location at The Outpost venue located right by Carrier Park. The 5K course takes runners through the beautiful Carrier Park and French Broad River Greenway. The course is completely flat with mixed surfaces - off-road/wood chips surface, packed dirt and paved Greenway.
The course is open to the public during the event. We do expect foot traffic and possibly bike traffic during the event. Stay to the right of the path at all times. Please pass on the LEFT and call out when approaching someone walking or riding their bike on the path.

Please help us out by being on time for this race! We're on a tight schedule to have the event broken down so around the Carrier Park trails can be enjoyed to the general public. Because of that, we cannot accommodate late participants. Late 5K participants will not be allowed to start after 10:05 AM, and late 1 Mile Fun Run participants will not be allowed to start after 10:25 AM.
5K CHIP-TIME Start: Open for all participants to start at 10:00 AM and participants will not be allowed to start after 10:05 AM. We highly encourage competitive runners that are participating for the chance to win an award to please make your way to the first few rows at the starting line.
1 Mile Fun Run Rolling Start: Open for all participants to start at 10:10 AM and participants will not be allowed to start after 10:25 AM. The 1 Mile Fun Run will be untimed.
Stroller friendly? The 5K and 1 Mile course is flat with mixed surfaces including some dirt trails. Participants with strollers are encouraged to position themselves in the back at the starting line.
Dogs allowed? Encouraged for 1 Mile Fun Run only.
