Registration for the Trot VIP Packages
We offer a limited number of VIP Turkey Trot add-ons. The VIP package is available only to the first 400 participants who select this option.

- VIP Tent Pass: Access to the VIP tent (Breakfast, Coffee, Juice).
- Exclusive VIP T-Shirt: Receive a special short-sleeve Turkey Trot T-shirt in addition to the traditional Trot T-shirt.
- VIP Starting Line Coral: Secure a spot in the exclusive VIP starting line coral.
- VIP Early Packet Pick-Up: Access early packet pick-up on November 22nd from 4 PM – 7:30 PM at the Benbrook YMCA.

How do I register for the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot?
Your options for registration include the following:
· Online –To register online click here.
· Race Day Registration– Please be aware that the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot has a limited participant capacity. Registration for the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot will close once this capacity is reached. However, if space is still available on race day, you can register prior to the start of the 5K & 8K races. Race Day Registration begins at 6:30 A.M. Early arrival ensures you will not miss the race start. Those registering on race day may not receive a Turkey Trot shirt.
· Group & Family Registration – Group & Family registration is offered for Groups or Families of 3 or more participants who register and pay on or before November 20th. Each member of a Group & Family will receive a $5 discount (The $5 discount will be applied once the 3rd participant has registered and paid for the Trot). Group & Family participants do not need to participate in the same event to receive the $5 discount per participant. Group & Family participants are encouraged to pick up shirts and bibs prior to race day. To receive the Group & Family Discount, simply set-up a team and add each participant to your team.
Team/Group Challenge
Be part of the fun! The largest registered team or group will be recognized on Thanksgiving morning at the Moritz Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot. The winner will be determined by the total number of registered participants as of noon on November 27th.
On race day, the emcee will announce the winning team/group just before the 5K awards ceremony. So, rally your friends, family, and colleagues—build those teams and aim for the top!
When and where do I Pick-Up my Turkey Trot T-Shirt & Race Bibs?
T-Shirts and race bibs will be available during the scheduled Packet Pick-Up days at Luke’s Locker, The Bedford YMCA and the Northpark YMCA. To ensure you will receive a t-shirt and bib, we strongly encourage early registration and attending packet pick-up prior to race day.
Please keep in mind, all participants must wear their assigned race bib on race day to participant in the 5K, 8K or Gobbler Trot.

Can someone else pick up my t-shirt and race bibs?
Yes – the person picking up the t-shirt(s) and bib(s) will need the participant’s name or their QR Code.
Where do I park when I get to the Turkey Trot?
There is parking available in several parking garages and parking lots. On street parking will not be permitted in the Clearfork Shopping Center.
This is a major event and we do encourage participants to arrive early for the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot. We encourage participants to arrive early and carpool, if possible.
Do I get a finisher medal for completing the 5K?
The first 6,000 registered runners participating in the 5K will receive a 2024 Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot Finisher Award upon completion of the 5K run. You must have a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot 5K Racing Bib on at the finish line to receive a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot finisher Award.
Do I get a finisher medal for completing the 8K?
The first 2,500 registered runners participating in the 8K will receive a 2024 Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot Finisher Award upon completion of the 8K run. You must have a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot 8K Racing Bib on at the finish line to receive a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot finisher Award (only registered participants are eligible for a Finisher Award).
Do I get a finisher award for completing the 1K Youth Gobbler Trot?
The first 600 children (12U) completing in the Youth Gobbler Trot will receive a 2024 Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot commemorative finisher award. You must have a Fort Worth YMCA Racing Bib to receive a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot Finisher Award (only registered participants are eligible for a Finisher Award).
Do you have age group awards?
Yes, we offer age group awards for the top three finishers in each age group in the 5K & 8K (age groups listed below). All age group winners are determined by final chip-time results. Age group awards are only available for runners registered for the 5K or 8K. All age group awards can be picked-up at Luke’s Locker – Clear Fork location (November 28th - December 31st.

Is the “1K Children’s Gobbler Trot” a separate event or distance?
Yes, the 1k Children’s Gobbler Trot is a 1K fun run. Parents who register for the 5K or the 8K may accompany their child(ren) who are registered in the 1k Children’s Gobbler Trot. The Gobbler Trot is an untimed fun run. All children participating must be registered prior to the 1K Gobbler Trot to receive a finisher award or event t-shirt (while supplies last). The first 600 children (12U) will receive a commemorative finisher award as they finish the Gobbler Trot.
Participants must have a 2024 Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot Racing Bib to receive a Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot Finisher Award.
Only registered participants are eligible for a Gobbler Trot Finisher Award.

Can I walk the 5K?
We have lots of walkers. Do keep in mind that all walkers MUST start at the back of the pack. Walkers are only permitted in the 5K.
Can I bring my dog?
Absolutely, dogs are welcome. There is a $20.00 registration fee and all well trained, friendly dogs on leashes (max. 3 ft.) are welcome. Participants MUST line up in the designated “Dog Coral” at the back of the starting corrals. No dog will be allowed in the competitive corrals. Dog owners maintain responsibility for their pets. Dogs should be registered for the event and the first 400 dogs to register will receive a Turkey Trot dog bandana. Runners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
Is skating or cycling allowed?
No, because they travel at a higher speed, for the safety of others, rollerblades, Heelys, roller skates, scooters and bicycles are not allowed in the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot.
Do I have to be chip timed?
Yes, chip timing is required to participate in either the 5k or 8k run. New for the 2024 Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot, the first 9,000 registered runners will receive a Finisher Award. Runners must wear their bibs to be eligible for overall awards, age group awards or finisher medals.
Is there assistance available if I cannot complete the whole course?
Yes, we have paramedics, radio operators and police officers patrolling the course. If you need assistance, just ask a volunteer or an officer for help. We also have water stops located on the course.
Are baby strollers allowed?
Absolutely, strollers are welcome. Participants MUST line up in the designated “Stroller Coral” at the back of the starting corrals. No strollers will be allowed in the competitive chip timed corral. Parents registered in the 5K or 8K are not required to register infants or toddlers riding in a stroller.
Will food and water be available at the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot?
The Turkey Trot will provide water and fruit for our participants at no additional charge at the end of the races.
What if it rains or snows? Will you still have the Turkey Trot?
In general, no matter what the weather, the Turkey Trot will go on! Only severe lightning will delay the event. Our paramount concern is the safety of our participants.
Costume Contest
Join us for Trotter’s favorite part of the Moritz Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot—our Costume Contest! On Thanksgiving morning, our Trot Costume Crew will be on the lookout for the most creative and family-friendly costumes.
To participate, simply register for the Turkey Trot, sponsored by Texas Health, and show up on race day in your costume and race bib. Be sure to stop by the Trot Costume Crew’s tent to enter the contest (only registered participants are eligible to win).
The top 10 costumes will be recognized by the Costume Crew during the event, so bring your best and show us your Trot spirit!
What happens to the proceeds from the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot?
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth welcomes all who wish to participate and believes that no one should be denied access based on their ability to pay. Proceeds from the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot benefit diverse programs of the Y that are strengthening our community including preschool and afterschool care, water safety and swim lessons, day and overnight camp, youth sports, health programs and more.
