Sinister 7 Ultra Update
Hi |*FIRST_NAME*|,
Friday the 13th and it's almost time for the 18th annual Sinister 7 Ultra. Buckle up, mystery fans; let's get down to some serious race update action.
Have you checked out the Racer Information Package? It has everything from where to park to the whole weekend schedule.

BREEZE THROUGH CHECK-IN
Race check-in is more than just grabbing your race bag. Enjoy our expo, pick up some swag, and join us for dinner. Check-in is open from 1:00-9:00pm on Friday, July 11. We are pretty efficient, and here are a few notes to help you cruise through:
- Come early; Check-in opens at 1:00pm, and it is usually a slow build-up until dinner time when things get really busy. Someone else can register on your behalf if necessary, as long as we get a signed waiver, which most competitors did online.
- Have your waiver ready (if you didn't do it online); Have it signed and witnessed before you line up at registration. You cannot sign on behalf of someone else. YES - teams can bring a teammate's waiver if they can't be there for check-in, but it has to be signed by the runner. We will have copies available, but waivers can also be downloaded here - http://www.sinister7.com/files/waiver.pdf. No waiver = no race for you!
- Drop bags - for soloists using drop bags, have them ready. You will have until 9:00pm Friday night to drop them off at registration. We have colour-coded tags for everything, you just need to write your bib number and drop them in the correct pile. We do not move drop bags from location to location. We take pretty much anything, so you don't necessarily need a huge bag. Bags are better than bins. They are all collected at HQ after the race.
- 100-miler = You can put one drop bag at TA1, one at TA2/3, one at TA4, and one at TA5/6.
- 50-miler = You can put one drop bag at TA4, and one at TA5/6.
- 50k = You can put one drop bag at TA2/3.
- 50-mile Solos - your last chance to check in is from 7:30-9:00am on Saturday at the Sports Complex in Coleman. While we have that short window to check in on Saturday morning, don't leave this as your last resort! If too many of you show up at once, you won't get registered in time to make it to the start line.
- Teams - try and have your team together. We know that many of you are coming from different places, but things tend to go a bit faster when you're all together. One person can register the entire team if they have all the waivers. Again, don't line up if you don't have your waivers signed.
We no longer offer late registration at the start line. If you cannot be there on Friday night (or 7:30-9:00 for 50-milers), please make alternative arrangements with us or have someone register on your behalf.
VOLUNTEERS MAKE LIFE BETTER!
We still need a few more spots filled, so remind family and friends We make the experience fun for them too, and we have great swag, just for volunteers. We have great swag lined up - anyone who volunteers out on the racecourse gets a soft flask and custom quick-dry towel, which are in addition to the meal, shirt and other perks.
Sign them up here! https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/volunteer
WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS
We live in the Rockies and there are critters everywhere. We have not hosted a race in the last 23 years when someone has not seen a large predator, like a bear or cougar. Don't panic! We haven't fed a single racer to them in that time.
Check out the animal encounter tips in the racer information package. https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/racer_information_package#_Toc728a

🎉 We’re stoked to team up with spry once again for the Sinister 7 Ultra - our trusted official local gear partner. From hydration packs, gaiters, carbon running poles, fuel, and more, they have all the essentials for tackling the course.
LOOK! Fuel Fairy has visited spry! Check it out.
MANDATORY LEG 2 SHUTTLE
I am going to keep repeating this for the next month... Leg 2 Relay runners have a mandatory shuttle from the start area to TA1. We do this in order to relieve congestion. There is almost no parking at TA1, and it gets to be a bit of a madhouse, so do not drive up there. Support crews for soloists can drive up, but they will be parking on the side of the road.
ICYMI, pre-order these fly MarsQuest shades through our online store, Dirt Vert Hurt, and pick them up at check-in. They make great gifts for support crews. 😉
See you soon!
Kindest regards,
Brian Gallant
