Let's get ready for the long weekend with a wee racer update. We're just eight weeks out from the race, and now is a good time to start panicking. See below for some important info.

LEG 1 CHANGES

In case you missed it, we announced a change to the start of leg 1. This is going to add 3km to the leg, BUT we are working to trim that later. Fret not, Sinner! The course crew has been out trying to get a good quality GPS track, but the snow has hampered their progress. We expect to see that information soon, though – definitely in time for the next update.

MANDATORY LEG 2 SHUTTLE

I am going to keep repeating this for the next two weeks... Leg 2 Relay runners have a mandatory shuttle from the start area to TA1. We do this in order to relieve congestion. There is almost no parking at TA1, and it gets to be a bit of a madhouse, so do not drive up there. Support crews for soloists can drive up, but they will be parking on the side of the road.

GETTING AROUND TOWN

Here are a few key things to know and remember:

• Check-in is from 1:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday - yes, you can have someone check you in as long as you signed the online waiver
• No RVs in the parking lot at check-in! The lot is just too small, so take any big rigs to the High School or Crowsnest Community Christian Centre just down the road (see Travel link below)

• Racer meeting is at 7:00pm Friday
• Please, do not park in front of homes or businesses the whole weekend - while everyone appreciates our visitors, there has been an ongoing problem with people parking in inconvenient places - there are designated parking areas on the travel map https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/travel
• Parking at TA2/TA3 gets tight, so if you want to have a better day, look for alternate parking on 19th Avenue in Blairmore.
• If 100-mile soloists want to leave their cars at the Sports Complex and take the shuttle to the start line, it leaves at 6:15am - no second chances on that one

CUPLESS RACING + GELS

If you have not raced with us before, we do not have cups at any of our aid stations on the course. That means you need your own cup, flask, bottle, or bladder to fill up. At main transitions, there are cups and bowls, primarily for hot food and drinks.

We also do not offer individually packaged gels. These wrappers get everywhere, even when people are careful. Sun River Honey provides bulk gel for us, so (once again) you need your own container. Or I'll just squeeze some into your mouth. Mmmmm!

We are also giving all racers and volunteers these fantastic, custom soft flasks. We designed them just for you!
