CMHA Alberta and Centre for Suicide Prevention invites you to the 8th annual Run for Life!
Join CMHA Alberta and Centre for Suicide Prevention (CMHA AB + CSP) on a journey from darkness into light to remember loved ones lost to suicide and raise awareness for prevention during the 8th annual Run for Life from September 6-13, 2025.
Run for Life is a hybrid event:
- Participate in-person at the Calgary Run for Life event on Saturday, Sept. 13, or at various pop-up events held across Canada.
- Participate virtually anywhere, anytime, and in any way: by running, walking, biking, or doing any physical activity that inspires you.
All activities are welcome in Run for Life.

How to Participate
1. Register online for Run for Life 2025.
2. Choose where and how to participate anywhere, anytime. Run, walk, hike, bike, yoga, pickleball, attend a fitness class at the gym - any movement that inspires you!
3. Complete any physical activity, anywhere, anytime between Saturday, Sept. 6, and midnight on Saturday, Sept. 13, or join us in-person at the Calgary signature event. Remember to snap a photo once you’ve finished and share using #RunforLife2025 and tagging @cspyyc!
4. Join us on social media @cspyyc on Saturday, Sept. 6 for a welcome video and on Saturday, Sept. 13 for the Run for Life 2025 commemoration video (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X).
Run for Life Calgary signature event
Edworthy Park - North Lot, Calgary
Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025
9 am – 12 pm MT
Join us once again this year on the closing day of Run for Life at our new location in Edworthy Park. This is a pop-up gathering spot to connect with other Run for Life participants for walking, running, commemoration and conversation. Bring your furry team members for a tasty dog treat, too! Everyone is welcome!
Details:
- 9:15 AM: Join us at the Welcome Tent for some opening words and a warm-up stretch
- 9:30 AM: Casual 5 and 10 KM route meet-ups begin
Volunteer Run Captains will host casual 5 KM and 10 KM route (meet-up stations beginning from the Welcome Tent). Enjoy complimentary water and post-run snacks. Bring your dog for a tasty treat, too!
- 11:00 AM: 1 KM memorial walk begins from the Welcome Tent near Edworthy Park - North lot
Run for Life pop-up events across Canada
Individuals, families, and workplaces also host Run for Life in-person pop-up events across Canada (and around the world) and participate in their local communities.

What's NEW in 2025
Daily Activity Bingo Challenge:
Using the “Daily Activity Bingo Challenge” card found in your race kit, participants can complete an official Run for Life activity each day from September 6-13 to help raise awareness for suicide prevention.
Once all daily activities are complete: bingo! You can scan or take a photo of your Challenge card and email back to runforlife@suicideinfo.ca by September 14 to be entered in a draw for Run for Life prizes!

Commemorate a loved one
If you’ve lost a loved one to suicide, send their name and photo to runforlife@suicideinfo.ca or when you register by Saturday, Aug. 23rd so we can commemorate them in an event video.
- Let people know you’re participating by sharing a photo or message of hope on social media using #RunforLife2025.
- Stay tuned to our social channels @cspyyc where we’ll release event videos and share participation throughout Run for Life week.
- Access our social media kit for materials to share or create your own!

Calgary Race Kit Pick-Up Process
If you ordered a race kit and live in Calgary, you can pick it up at the CMHA Alberta and Centre for Suicide Prevention office at 105 12 Ave SE in Calgary at the dates and times below:
- Thursday, August 28th -9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday, August 29th - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
**Please note that these times are for all Calgary Participants. Participants outside of Calgary will have their race kits mailed. **
*Race Day Pick Up Available - Calgary Pop-Up only* If you're unable to make the Race kit pick-up time, and someone can't pick up your package for you, you may pick up the day of the Calgary Pop-Up event on Saturday, Sept. 13th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Edworthy Park - North Lot.
