Help us raise money

For participating in Team Cassie + Friends Montreal 2025

Our story…

Léa was born in Kuujjuaq and was a cheerful, smiling baby.

She was named after an Elder in the community who was deeply cherished, and later, some Inuit friends gave her the nickname "ningiuk," meaning "old lady."

At her 9-month checkup, we discovered that she couldn't straighten both of her legs. After some tests, she was diagnosed with juvenile arthritis.

In hindsight, her nickname turned out to be quite fitting—a baby with an "old lady disease."

The first three years after her diagnosis were tough, but she received excellent care from the pediatric rheumatology team at the children's hospital. They are truly amazing.

Today, Léa is 7 years old and can do anything she sets her mind to. Her condition is well-managed with medication.

Last year, we were privileged to participate in Cassie and Friends' event. Now, we'd like to help them raise funds for families in need of support.

Join us for the walk and be part of something special!
