Volunteer for Run4Lighthouse 2026
Run4Lighthouse will take place at 1400 Lakeshore Rd., Burlington, ON L7S 1Y2. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available on event day, thank you so much for being part of this special day with us!
Please review the positions below. We have 9 different roles available, and all important details will be shared with volunteers via email. Kindly ensure that your email address is entered correctly so you don’t miss any updates.
Please note that each volunteer group will have a designated supervisor. Upon arrival, you will be directed to your supervisor, who will guide and support you throughout your shift.

1. General Helper (10 spots)
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Assist with event setup and teardown (e.g., unloading/loading vans, setting up tents, moving tables and chairs)
Help manage garbage and recycling
Transport supplies between event areas
Support with additional tasks as needed throughout the event
2. Food Service Helper (6 spots)
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Assist at snack and food station
3. 5 KM Course Marshal (28 spots)
Time: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Stationed at either 0.5 km, 1 km, 1.5 km, 2 km, and 2.5 km marker on the 5 km route visible to runners and walkers.
As participants approach, your role is to cheer them on with energy and enthusiasm!
Create encouraging posters and use personal items, like noise makers or fun accessories, to show your support and help lift their spirits.
You are our cheering squad and there to support and encourage everyone as they pass.
4. Parking Attendant (7 spots)
Time: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Stationed near the road to support participant arrival and parking
Guide participants to designated parking areas to ensure smooth traffic flow and organization from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Offer friendly assistance and help create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for all attendees
Support other event needs after 10:30 AM by stepping in to assist wherever needed
5. Race Kit Pick-Up & Bag Check (7 spots)
Time: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Assist participants with race kit pickup and t-shirt distribution
Help manage bag check (labeling, organizing, and returning items)
Ensure belongings are sorted alphabetically for easy retrieval
6. Drop-Off Greeter (6 spots)
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Welcome participants and guide them from drop-off areas to the event space
Assist with directions throughout the event
7. Medals Crew (10 spots)
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Hand out medals to participants as they finish
Support with cleanup after the race
8. Entrance & Exit Information Helper (4 spots)
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Welcoming all participants coming in.
Welcome participants and provide directions
Guide attendees to key areas (Start/Finish line, Children’s Zone, Vendor Village, washrooms, etc.)
Answer questions using the provided FAQ sheet
9. Water Service Helper (11 spots)
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM | May 30, 2026
Distribute water to runners and walkers
Keep water stations stocked and organized
Refill cups as needed
Dispose of empty bottles in recycling bins
