Registration
Is there a registration deadline?
Registration for Longhorn Run 2026 is sold out! If registered participants would like to transfer their registration to someone else or to a different sub-event, please email longhornrun@austin.utexas.edu.
Is there early bird pricing available?
Yes. Early bird pricing will be available through March 3 at 11:59pm CST.
Can I register as part of a team?
Yes! Create or join a team during registration, or log into Race Roster afterward to join a team.
Is there an age requirement to participate?
All ages are welcome. Race shirts are available in adult sizes only, and minors require parental approval and supervision.
Can I walk the race?
Yes! Walkers should join the 5K, start toward the back of the corral, and keep to the right side of the course.
Race Shirts
How do the race shirts fit?
The 2026 shirt is a Nike Dri-FIT standard-fit tee. Shirts tend to run small and are only available in unisex/men’s sizes. No exchanges after registration.
Can I change my t-shirt size after registering?
No, shirt sizes cannot be changed once registration is complete.
Transfers, Refunds & Sub-Events
What is the refund policy?
Longhorn Run has a strict no-refunds policy. Participants may transfer their registration to another person. Please email our team at longhornrun@austin.utexas.edu to request a transfer.
Can I transfer to a different event (5K ↔ 10K)?
Yes. There is a $5 transfer fee. Upgrades require paying the cost difference; no refunds for transferring to a lower-priced event.

When is Longhorn Run 2026?
Saturday, April 18, 2026.
What time do the races start?
10K begins at 8:00 AM; 5K begins at 8:15 AM. Wave starts will be used, and chip time ensures accurate results.
When should I arrive?
Arrive no later than 7:30 AM. Late starts are not allowed.
Where does the race start and finish?
West of 21st Street and Speedway at UT Austin, with a post-race celebration at the UT Tower steps.
What are the timing divisions?
This year’s race will have timing divisions organized by age groups and gender for both the 5K and 10K races. You can view the timing divisions below.

Are there awards for top finishers?
The first-place male and female in each age division for both the 5K and 10K race will be awarded. There will be no award ceremony at the race. Top finishers will be contacts after the race to coordinate logistics about award pick-up.
Parking & Traffic
Where can I park?
Self-pay parking is available in UT garages. San Antonio Garage and Rowling Hall Garage are recommended.

Race Day Experience
What is the route for this year's race
You can view this year's course route here.
Will there be water stations?
Yes! Water stations are placed along the course and at the finish line.
Water stations for the 10K can be found at 38th Street and 24th Street.
Water stations for the 5K can be found at 24th Street.
Will there be pace groups?
Yes. Members from Texas Running Club will pace at intervals from 6:30 to 12:00 min/mile.
What happens if it rains?
The event continues rain or shine unless severe weather poses danger. Refunds are not issued for weather cancellations.
Are strollers allowed?
Yes. Line up at the back of the corral and stay to the right during the race.
Can I wear headphones?
Yes, but please be sure to stay aware and follow race officials’ instructions and signage.

Proceeds support the UT Student Government Excellence Fund and Recreational Sports Excellence Fund.
