Sinister 7 Ultra Update
Hi |*FIRST_NAME*|,
This is it... we are just about ready for the big show. Your bib number is |*BIB_NUMBER*| – this makes it real. We have you registered for the |*SUB_EVENT*|, in case you were in doubt. ;)
We are going to repeat some important information from the last update, because we want to make sure we get it out there as much as possible. There are a few unexpected and last-minute changes that we need to go over.
If you missed the last updates, you can find them on the registration page: https://raceroster.com/events/2026/108325/sinister-7-ultra
Have you checked out the Racer Information Package? It has everything from where to park to the whole weekend schedule.

IMPORTANT 50-MILE NOTES
We want to be sure you get these details covered before you arrive:
- 50-Mile Soloists – New Start Area
- To respond to more of those land-use changes, we are moving the Start of the 50-miler to York Creek Staging Area: https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/course
- You can either drive to the Start, or take the shuttle bus: https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/racer_information_package#_Toc717
- This area has recently been logged and Public Lands has increased the size of the parking area, making it a great location to start the 50-miler
- You are welcome to park here as long as needed
- Leg 4 Change – 100-mile and 50-mile Runners (including Relay)
- This was announced two weeks ago, but we want to be sure it is communicated. We have to move TA4 (end of leg 4). It is currently showing on the updated GPX files and Google Map on the website: https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/course
- Due to land-use changes, we have struggled to find a permanent home for TA4, and we have to make due with an awkward location for this year – we hope to have a better location in 2027 when we do our next big course revision *foreboding background music*
- Leg 6 change
- We have made a small modification to Leg 6 in the CP6b area
- The CP is moving southwest to Atlas Road so that it is easier to bring in supplies and medical support if needed
- For anyone who raced Sinister 7 in the early days, it was where the old TA was at the end of Leg 5 – you leave the pipeline trail and make your way to the clearing, then back up to the pipeline trail by a straight route to the southeast
- The course is updated online and you can see it here: https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/course
HOT HOT HOT!
It looks like another hot one out there! For veteran sinners, you know what that means. You all get to hear me talk about hydration and hyponatremia.
hyponatremia | ˌhīpōˌnāˈtrēmēə, ˌhīpōnəˈtrēmēə | (British English hyponatraemia)
noun Medicine
A lower than normal level of sodium in the bloodstream.
We worry about your well-being, and we want everyone to take care of themselves. We have paramedics, but let's try to avoid them: you are the #1 best person to keep yourself safe. So watch your own fluid intake, but be sure you have enough electrolytes. Without that salt, your body stops working and you're going to have a bad time. Our electrolyte is Tailwind, which also has carbs added. If you have something that works for you, bring it. Make smart choices out there and stay cool!
The back of your bib:
BUGS
Normally the bugs are not too bad here, except in some cool, low-lying areas. That is not the case this year. The mosquitos have been making up for lost time.
CHECK-IN AND DROP BAGS
We want to help you get through registration quickly. Here are the steps you can take if you want to breeze through registration on Saturday morning:
- Your start time is 10:30am at the new staging area, York Creek
- 50-milers can only check in on Friday night and for a brief time on Saturday morning;
- If you do intend to come on Saturday morning, give yourself enough time because if we are busy and have too many people at once, no race for you!
- You can leave a drop bag for TA4 and TA5/6 when you get there, if you do not have a support crew
- Review the racer info; https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/racer_information_package
RV FACILITIES
For those bringing an RV, Crowsnest Pass has a place for fresh water and a sani-dump. It is still a small town, so it can get busy, but it is an option. https://maps.app.goo.gl/KYtMPfP3GZM9VsuBA
VOLUNTEERS MAKE LIFE BETTER!
We still need a few more spots filled, so remind family and friends We make the experience fun for them too, and we have great swag, just for volunteers. We have great swag lined up - anyone who volunteers out on the racecourse gets a soft flask and custom quick-dry towel, which are in addition to the meal, shirt and other perks.
Sign them up here! https://www.sinistersports.ca/sinister7/volunteer

See you soon!
Kindest regards,
Brian Gallant
