Marin County School Volunteers enriches student learning by recruiting, training and pairing volunteer tutors with students in Marin public schools. The kids we target…Students who are low income, English Language Learners, have special needs,or attend schools with few resources, should not be left behind. Recent studies show--1 in 4 Marin students-- currently live in poverty --- many are behind IN READING AND MATH by third grade. THE GOOD NEWS--- Every child is one caring adult away from being a success story. Individual support works!! Fortunately, across Marin there is an army of adults eager to work toward equity, to make a real difference in the life of a child. Our 300 + volunteers impact thousands of students -- Educators love our program. They say--and research shows---our volunteer presence benefits ALL students in a classroom!
