All participants who complete their chosen challenge will earn a medal, commissioned by Indigenous Marathon Project graduate and artist Shane Cook.

The cost of postage for medals is include in your entry fee, including international participants. All medals will be posted upon the completion of the event.
Mantikya Shane Cook
2019 Indigenous Marathon Project Graduate and Emerging Indigenous Australian Artist
Mantikya Shane Cook is internationally and nationally recognised as a prominent Indigenous aerosol artist, youth and cultural mentor based in Adelaide. A proud Wulli Wulli and Guwa descendant from Queensland. Mankitya has been adopted by and was named Mankitya which translates to "the scarred one" by the local Aboriginal Kaurna community in Adelaide, South Australia. Shane’s style is lead through his indigenous inspired contemporary and traditional First Nations Australian art taught to him by his mother as a child. He has created a unique body of work that combines contemporary media with traditional design.
"Inspired by art seen on the street I was taught by local Adelaide artists in my early teens. Then going on to blend that art form with indigenous art which was taught to me by my mother as a child. I have always been inspired by modern day and traditional dreaming and Dreamtime stories.
Since completing high school graduating year 12 with a Merit Award in Community Studies – Art in the community I have worked in both the South Australian Education system and Justice System Mentoring. Facilitating Art Therapy Workshops also completing Certificates in Community services and indigenous mentoring. As well as working with Adelaide local councils, organisations such as the SANFL and the AFL and I have also exhibited at Adelaide's leading Aboriginal art gallery Tandanya.
