What events are made up in the Events Collective?
We have brought together 8 of the largest events from each state and territory around Australia for the first time in history. The Events Collective includes, Village Roadshow Theme Parks Gold Coast Marathon, Blackmores Sydney Running Festival, Deadly Running Australia, Great Ocean Road Running Festival, Run the Bridge Hobart, Westpac City-Bay Adelaide, Fremantle Running Festival and The City to Surf Darwin.
Who can participate in the Run Australia 2021 Challenge?
The Run Australia 2021 challenge is open to everyone! The Run Australia 2021 is a virtual challenge so you are able to participate from anywhere in the world.
What does the challenge involve?
Participants can select from three different challenges or enter an individual race. Each challenge consists of 8 individual runs that will need to be completed between the 16 January - 28 March 2021.
What do I get for participating?
All entrants will receive a unique medal for complete their challenge. Finishes will also receive 20% discounts into some of the 2021 events. . Entrants will also be able to track their times on the leaderboard, filter by relevant age group and go in the draw to win prize packs from ASICS.
When do I have to complete my virtual Run?
All participants have between 00:01 AEST Saturday 16 January 2021 and 23:59 AEST Sunday 11th March 2021 to complete their virtual run and submit their results.
Is there a particular order in which I need to complete the events within the challenge?
No! You can complete the events in any order you wish. They simply need to be completed during the three month period. Results for each will be automatically uploaded if you track your run using the ASICS RunKeeper app.
Is there a limit/cut off for any distance?
No, you can take each distance at your own pace. Run Australia 2021 your way! However, just like the physical event please ensure that you have sufficiently trained and to the best of your knowledge, you are not suffering from a condition, illness, injury or other physical disability or impairment that may prevent you/or render you unfit to participate in the virtual run.
Can I run this anywhere, including a treadmill?
Yes, participants can participate and complete their event in their preferred way, including running on a treadmill. If you choose to run the event on a treadmill, you will not be able to use the RunKeeper app to record your run. We ask all participants to adhere to local government guidelines in place when taking part in their race.
Please select a safe route to run and take special care around traffic or when running off road.
How do I upload my result?
Instructions on how to upload your result can be downloaded here.
Please note, you will not be able to upload your result until January 16, 2021.
Will I receive a bib to run with?
Participants will receive a downloadable bib which will feature the name entered during the registration process. The bib will be sent to you in January via email prior to the event starting. This can be printed off and worn when completing your race.
It is not compulsory to wear your bib when completing the virtual event, but we encourage running with your bib to feel part of the Run Australia 2021 community and for those important selfies pre- and post-race!
Will I receive a medal?
Yes you will receive a medal for completing your event.

Where can I find results?
The Official Results page can be found through the Race Roster website. As part of the challenge you can see how you are placed on the map of Australia as you tour all event destinations.
Is participating in the virtual event safe?
Prior to taking part in the virtual run, make sure you are COVID-19 safe and are up to date with all local government COVIS safe guidelines. Most importantly:
- Download the COVID safe app (Australia)
- Practice good hygiene
- Maintain social distancing
- Stay inside if you are unwell
Please select a safe route to run and take special care around traffic or when running off road. Some routes can be terribly busy (especially on the weekends) so it is best to avoid common walk routs to ensure a smooth run.
Can I run in a group?
We encourage participants to run solo or with a friend however we appreciate each regions COVID regulations are different.
