UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation

UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation is the sole fundraising arm of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Our hospital has over 1 million patient visits each year, including nearly 20,000 surgical procedures and 109,000 Emergency and Express Care Visits. UPMC Children's Hospital is a top 10 nationally ranked pediatric hospital renowned for its outstanding clinical, research, and medical education programs and services - and for its frontline role in advancing standards of excellence in pediatric care.

Our patients and their families are the focus of all we do, guided by our goal to provide excellent, accessible, and affordable care. 

Funds raised by Pittsburgh Marathon runners who choose UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation as their charity of choice will support the patients and families served by UPMC Children's . Many of the programs, initiatives, and resources that make UPMC Children’s so special are funded by philanthropic gifts. 

Things like: Distraction Therapy which provides patients something else to focus on during their medical procedures, Child Life which provides many activities to create a sense of normalcy for hospitalized children, Free Care Fund which covers the cost of medical care for those that cannot afford it and so much more! Many of these areas are not covered by insurance, yet are critically important to helping families cope with the many challenges that accompany a child’s treatment.
